About Vibrant Saurashtra Agro Summit in Racecourse Ground, Rajkot

Over 50 percent of the total area on the Saurashtra’s (Western Gujarat, India) land has been utilized under cultivation. The belt is spread across different types of crops and cropping patterns. The leading crops of Saurashtra are cotton, jowar, bajra, wheat, groundnut caster seeds, seasum, paddy, sugarcane, gram, udad, mag, barley, chana, pulses-onion, garlic.
Groundnut being first; cotton, bajra, and jowar have occupied the second, third and fourth position respectively in percentage of land’s coverage in cultivation. Wheat, seasum, sugarcane etc., are relatively on lower priority; which is also reflected on the area occupied statistics.
