About SolarMobil Manipal in Eshwar Nagar, Manipal, Manipal
SolarMobil Manipal is Manipal University’s official student solar vehicle team. It was established in 2011 with the motto “Imagineering the Future”.We are a group of budding, environmentally conscious students of Manipal Institute of Technology from different fields of engineering.
The team shares a common ethos of using their knowledge and skill towards a greener, cleaner and better future.
Our vision is to become a leading student center of research and development in the field of green transportation with a focus on solar passenger vehicles in the next five years.
SolarMobil Manipal is one of the three institutional teams in India to have built a solar car and the only team in India to have designed, fabricated and demonstrated from scratch a passenger solar vehicle.
Since its inception, SolarMobil Manipal has successfully completed two projects – Freyr1, in 2013 and SERVe, in 2015.
At SolarMobil Manipal, we believe that we can productively channel our combined passion for a greener & cleaner world into something that benefits the society. The team stresses on system integration & innovation to come up with cost effective, efficient & green engineering systems.
