Just 1.5 kms. from the cultural heritage campus of the Viswa Bharati University established by the poet Tagore, Mitali is a restful, renovated Moorish-style family villa with modern amenities, set in spacious, green and unpolluted surroundings. The word "Mitali" means friendship, the sense that guides life in Mitali and the personal interaction between hosts and guests. UNESCO is considering the application for Shantiniketan's status as a World Cultural Heritage Site, because of its historical importance to Bengali culture and language, art, music, dance and education.
