About Surf Wala in Near Surf Club, Danndo Waddo, Arambol

Come Surf With Us

We are a group of surfers from around the globe who have set up Goa’s first surf school and we are offering you the chance to come join us.

Surfing is for everyone.

The sea in Goa provides us with the perfect waves for teaching and sharing our love of surfing with people of all ages. We have sourced the best equipment available and are constantly bringing in more to help improve the quality of the experience we provide.

Where we are

Our place is just behind the sand dunes of South Arambol beach, only a few steps from the water and a 10 minute beach walk to the main tourist town.

We teach our Land Lessons in the shaded yoga hall in our compound or down on the beach in front, depending on the weather conditions. The rest of the lesson will take place out in the surf, usually only a few meters away from the path back to the house.

When we surf

The best surf is in the mornings (This could be the reason that surfing in Goa has stayed a secret for so long)

Due to the light winds that breeze thru before the land heats up, the surf is always best before mid-day. Out courses begin from 9am and private lessons can be arranged even earlier.

This is how

You can just walk in but it works better for everyone if you give us a call or send us a message a few days in advance. That way, we can arrange the timings and book you in.

You can pay by cash or a bank transfer but we can’t accept cards at the moment.

Getting here is a bit tricky but there is a “SURF WALA” sign pointing the way on the Arambol - Mandrem road. Once you’ve turned off the ‘main road’ you will need to take a sharp left on to the mud road, then follow it along till you cross a little bridge. The road splits right and left and you need to take the right and follow the signs to “Surf Club” the road winds around and finally gets kinda small so those of you with 4 wheelers will need to walk the rest of the way but bikes (and really little cars) can continue into the Surf Club parking lot. Walk thru the Surf Club past the restaurant and out towards the beach. Once outside of the compound and in the coconut grove turn to the left and walk 100 meters and Surf Wala is on the right hand side.

You can also walk down the beach from either main Arambol (15 mins) or Mandrem (10 mins) just keep an eye out for a yellow surf board/sign saying SURF WALA. We are up that path behind the sand dune

Why we have come together, right now, over here.

There are better places to surf (even within India) but there is no-where quite like Goa. What ever kind of experience you are looking for, Goa can provide it. And now you can surf as well. We do our best to share the experience that we have found. It’s healthy and peaceful but with a good amount of fun with music and occasional dancing. Come see it for your self.
