About Adi Badri in Kathgarh Near ranjitpur, Yamunanagar

At the commencement of Kalyuga he shifted to the modern Badrinath (in Uttranchal). Being the ancient abode of Lord Vishnu it is considered as the Adi Badri.
Their exists an ancient temple of Lord Badri Narayana (Vishnu) on the Northern side of Somb River which is believed to have been constructed by Jagat Guru Shankracharya. There is also a temple of Lord Shiva, who is believed to have practiced austerities here at the commencement of Kalyuga. Here there is also a temple of Mantra Devi - it is so believed that Mata Mantra Devi was the younger daughter of Maharaj Virat. There is also a Kund (origin point) of Saraswati Devi. These are the four commonly accepted Dhams at Adi Badri. A big gathering of devotees occurs here on Akshay Tirtha of Baisakh month. A large number of devotees also visit Adi Badri after taking the holy dip at Kapal Mochan on the occasion of Kapal Mochan fair on Kartika Purnima (Full Moon of Kartika Month).
Origin of Saraswati - Adi Badri is also considered as the origin spot of Saraswati River. The Vedic texts refer to Saraswati river and highlight two significant associations with this river - Firstly, She is said to bestow bounty fertility and riches. Secondly, Saraswati represents purity, as does water, particularly running water. It is also the goddess of speech, the power through which knowledge expresses itself in action. In the Vedas Saraswati is primarily a river but in the hymns she is celebrated both as a river and a deity. This sacred river, although now dried up, is said in the RIGVEDA as "she who goes pure from the mountains as far as the sea ". According to Mahabharata, the river dried up on account of a curse by the sage Utathya. As a river Saraswati is lauded for the fertilizing and purifying powers of her waters and as the giver of fertility and wealth.
