About Abhijval in , Warangal

Abhijval is a youth organization focusing on environmental issues and sustainable development at the grass root level. Our motto is: “To Educate, Empower and Enlighten”. We tap into the potential of the people in order to transform their communities. We adhere to the following philosophy, “People must think global, but act local” i.e. people must develop their communities in a sustainable manner through inclusive participation while thinking about the planet at large. This is achieved by combining technical expertise and leadership training to bring about sustainable solutions and lasting change. We believe that a fully sustainable renewable power supply is the only way we can secure energy for all and avoid an environmental catastrophe.
The goals of the organization are as follows:-
-To communicate the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable.
-To bring the voice of Indian youth on the global platform as South Asia is one of the most vulnerable regions affected by potentially catastrophic climate change & environment issues.
-To create partnerships with policymakers, public bodies and various youth organizations in order address the climate challenge in a more effective manner
-To implement community based action projects such as Composting, Rural energy projects, Rain Water Harvesting, Solar Street Lamps etc:-
-To foster innovation and research in the area of renewable sources of energy through the provision of financial and technical assistance.
Abhijval uses Knowledge Transfer Programmes such as Climate Leadership Programmes to reach out to the youth and we enable them to become ambassadors of change in their respective communities. Abhijval believes that everyone deserves a say in determining their future. However this is impossible if people do not understand climate and developmental policy and therefore we decided to “dumb” down policy that at times can be very dry and complex and incorporate it as session in our Knowledge Transfer Programs. The exercise would result in the youth engaging into more meaningful debates about climate policy and sustainable development and thereby creating an atmosphere for change in society. Abhijval would also transmit their voices to the political class through petitions, online campaigns and various other innovative practices.
The following are projects that we are currently working on or looking to start at the earliest:-
-Creation of holistic modules to address the problem of Energy Efficiency and waste management in Educational Institutions across the country.
-Empowerment of Ragpickers in the District through the use of technology
-Decentralized power production for rural electrification through the use of renewable energy such as solar and biomass
