ACTIVIES OF THE ORGNISATION FOR THE LEPROSY AFFECTED PERSONS

1.Health Related activites:-
To identify signs/symptoms of leprosy before developing deformity or with less deformity patients and provide them multidrug therapy (M.D.T.) treatment.
Our organization runs clinic weekly in sevatirth and monthly at kadana ta; Lapsanily, Dist: Panchamahal district.
For further treatment patient is referred to private/government hospitals and needed medicines are purchased and given in addition to treatment from SEVATIRTH clinic.
Physiotherapy treatment is given to LAPS patient for pre and post operative rehabilitation in the JAGRUTI (of Honslow, U.K.) physiotherapy clinic at sevatirth by expert physiotherapists.
Also physiotherapy treatment is given to poor LAPS patient at their home by Mobile physiotherapy unit.
Organization provides micro cellular rubber (M.C.R.) sandals free of cost or at concetional rate to those suffering from ulcer on foot/feet. Also provides ulcer kit and splints for hand deformity patients.
2.Education Related activities:-
Our organization provides total educator help with hostel facilities from primary, secondary, college and I.T.I. level education for LAPS and their children for their bright future at sevatirth as well at their homes in cities/ villages.
Kids of LAPS stay in the hostel at sevatirth and go to nearby school/college for education.

3.Activities for children:-
Our Organization provides education help, health care support, teaching good manners to children.
Different cultural programs like Music competition, Drama, Mehndi, Rangoli competition, Sports competition (indoor and outdoor) are regularly being organized at sevatirth to motivate them.

4.Women related activities:-
Leprosy affected Women are train for home producs/ comodities such as candle, Doormat, incense sticks, washing powder, phenyl, etc., school article as white chalk, note books, registers etc., office articles such files, registers etc to make them self sufficient with self- employment.
They are also motivated to participate in the Rangoli drawings, Mehndi competitions, singing competition etc.

5.Training for self employment:-
Sevatirth runs government recognized I.T.I. with four trades of computer, book binding, cutting tailoring and needle work and electrical reay assembly fitting in collaboration with ABB company where LAPS are trained and employed to earn bread and butter foe their families.
Moreover, they motivate for acceptance in society with self respect.

6.Community Based Rehabilitation:-
LAPS are trained and educated to make them self employed and self dependant. We help them to live in society with self respect and dignity.
Till more than 850 LAPS are helped and amongst them 6 are awarded with 10 state, national, International awards and puraskars.

7.Sports related activity:-
Regular sports related activities are arranged in the sevatirth to motivate LAPS and their children to participate.
LAPS and their children participate regularly in the state, national and international level sports and win prizes, medals.
A sports complex exclusively for all categorized disabled is planned at sevatirth within campus.
Children form sevatirth participate in city, state and national level games and win medals/ prizes and so on.

8.Health education programs:-
We regularly organize skin camp, eye camp, polio detection and operation camps at villages and slum area’s schools, centers, groups, by showing slide show, pictures, group discussion, rally etc. through which we make them knowledgeable about mayth and wrong concept related to leprosy.

9.Religious and national festival celebration:-
We celebrate national and religious festival such as Holi, Rakshabandhan, Diwali, Bhaibij and independence and republic day with the LAPS and their children at sevatirth campus.

10.Old Age home related activities:-
Old age LAPS people live in the sevatirth old age home and we take care for their total health, food and clothes.
They regularly do pray and bhajans in shiv temple at sevatirth within campus.

11.Others:-
Organization organizes different programs and celebrates “leprosy eradication fortnight” every year between 30th January to 20 february.
