Started by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) was founded in the Silicon Valley in 1992. It fosters entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, education, incubating, and funding. With a singular focus on wealth creation through entrepreneurship, TiE inspires and educates budding entrepreneurs and holds regular workshops and networking meetings to give impetus to the process. There are currently 13,000 members, including over 2,500 charter members in 61 chapters across 18 countries. TiE encourages cross border trade and free enterprise policies internationally and is the largest pool of intellectual capital anywhere. The economic wealth created is estimated at $200 billion along with significant involvement in social entrepreneurship.
