Profile of the Department

The department had modest and humble origin and its growth has been parallel to and in tune with the growth of the college. Under Rev. Sr. Teresita Mary the second Principal and the head of the Department of History the department transformed itself into a full-fledged one. The year 1963 was an important year in the history of the department because history was introduced as a graduation course.

To develop a proper understanding of History through a critical reading of our past, so as to build a strong India and to promote international understanding.

To empower students to make careers in public and private sectors, so that they enhance their quality of lives and contribute to nation building.
