About C.S.I Church Peroorkada in CSI Church Ravi Nagar, Peroorkada P.O., Trivandrum

It was started as a Sunday school to the children who has been at the premises of this area. Gradually through the constant prayer and fellowship, a service was started in the S.N.D.P Hall, Peroorkada in a rented basis. Many Christians gathered here to worship God Jesus Christ. This necessitated for a particular place of worship. As a result there formed a committee to buy the land and construct a Church. Through the sincere and enthusiastic efforts of these people, God helped us for the purchase of a land and the construction of the Church. The Church was completed and dedicated to God, on 26th December 1982, by the Moderator and Bishop of our Diocese Most. Rev. Y. Yesudasan.

Rev. Roseberry was or first presbyter. Rev. Azariah Joseph, Rev. J. Lawarence, Rev. Thomas Shine, Rev. Thomas David and Rev. I. Noble Bright are other presbyters who followed him. Rev. L. Mohanadas is our present presbyter. He is also working as the Administrative Officer of the Dr. S.M C.S.I Medical College, Karakonam.

The Sunday School, Christian Endeavor and Youth Fellowship, Junior Christian Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship, The Choir, The Junior Choir, Good tidings Gospel band are the different areas of the Church. All these organs work in communion to the Glory of God.

Since the members of the Church are increasing year by year, the capacity of the Church building became insufficient to accommodate all these members together from the small area provided for the Church and the Mission House, it found difficult to build an extension to the Church. So it was decided to build a Balcony to the Church and a hall above it. Now it is completed and the dedication is on 28th March 2010 by the Moderator and Bishop of our Diocese Most. Rev. J.W. The time of Worship on Sunday morning is between 7.30 A.M – 9.30 A.M. The Sunday School starts from 10.00 A.M. After The Sunday School, the C.E.Y.F meeting is held from 11.00 A.M – 12.00 Noon. The Women’s Fellowship meeting is held between 4.30 P.M – 5.30 P.M. The Junior Choir practice is on Saturday from 5.00 P.M – 6.00 P.M and the J.C.F is continued thereafter. The Church Choir practice is held on Saturday evening between 6.30 P.M – 7.30 P.M.
