About ALTERMEDIA in Brhamswom Madom Bldg, M G Road, Thrissur

Started at the last phase of 80’s, formed as a group in the midst of 90’s, Altermedia is today an alternative bookshop and an Organic shop with its network span over from alternative booksellers to informal groups, in and around India. It is in the wake of Silent valley agitation, Altermedia find its historical roots when the group was focused the attention on the publishing and distribution of books related to alternate approaches.

Today Altermedia is an organization dealing with the distribution of alternative literature from the fields of Ecology, Organic farming,Health, and Education, only to mention some fields. As these books are from small and nourishing publishers, altermedia acts as facilitators by taking least profit.

The Organic shop, with its green meaning, is a co-venture of the bookshop. Organic food products and other eco friendly products being distributed at the shop are from small scale farmers. Collecting the products and distribute under one roof makes a meaningful introduction to the eco sensitive audience and by taking least profit Altermedia ensures the maximum benefit for the producers.
