Social Action is an NGO, which acts as the prime centre of the social service activities of the district of Thrissur in Kerala. It spreads its wings in the various realms like relief, welfare, economic development, social justice etc., in collaboration with the central/state Govt. agencies, departments and foreign agencies by way of implementing various welfare projects and programmes effectively. We cater to weaker and vulnerable sections irrespective of caste, creed and community. It’s an NGO founded on 3rd December 1997, Registered vide Travancore-Cochin Charitable Society’s Act (No. 691/97) as a society for charitable works and to coordinate and execute welfare projects among the poor and the needy.
It was established as the central platform to act upon the social needs of the community. It aims at the result-oriented activities for the welfare of the less privileged and all the more encompasses its activities with a holistic perspective and performance for the social change. Snehanidhi Credit Unions and Snehasree Self Help Groups established for the empowerment of women contribute to the core of the existence of Social Action.
