The Dept offers B.Com (Finance),B.Com(Banking & Insurance ) and M.Com (Financial Management ).Around 360 B.Com and 40 M.Com students are there in Commerce Section.The Dept conducts many student Educational Enrichment programmes,Merit Day,Soft skills etc inorder to nurture and develop best talented students to suit their career prospects.The Dept has started nine clubs such as Entrepreneurshop ,Tourism ,Soft skills,Debate,Businessline,Eco club,Social sevice,Student empowerment,Dance&Music etc.to add to the personality development of the students.Besides,there is a Student councelling cell too.The Dept is led by a team of committed teachers with high academic records and years of teaching experience.Dr.P.O.George(HOD),Dr.C.K.Francis,Dr.Thomas Paul Kattookaran,Prof.Paul Jose P.,Prof.Biju John M,Dr.Dean Martin,Prof.Daisland Thattil,Prof.Sowmia Rajan,Prof.Divya George,Prof.Sijo Jacob,Prof.Sindhu George,Prof.Jilna John,and Adv.Jockin Periera enkindle knowledge in the minds of the students.
Students of Commerce excel in University Exams,Arts,Sports,Athletics,Management contests etc.There are State Champions,University Champions and National winners amongst commerce students.Tourofest,Merit Day,Work Experience Day,Commerce Association Day etc., are particular events to commerce students.Besides,they bring laurels to the Dept's fame by actively participating in Arts festival,Sports festival,Food festival,Campus based competitions etc.
The Dept recently conducted a UGC-funded National seminar on Knowledge Management& E-Governance and came out with its publication ENKINDLE KNOWLEDGE.
