Serve Train Educate People’s Society (STEPS) established in the year 1993 as Non Governmental organization at Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh state, India.
It is legally accredited with Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Registered under FCRA 1976 Ministry of Home Affairs, Tax Exemption under 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Department, Govt of India.
All programs are headed by volunteers and development facilitators with participation and involvement of peoples committees. This NGO gives emphasis on Health aspects of those particularly preventive and curative health related programs with a special focus on children, Adolescents, and Women with more specifically emphasis on strengthen integrated child health and expand awareness and advocacy services. Organization of women into groups and to promote grass root level initiation for their empowerment and Safe guards their human rights.
STEPS NGO in special consultative status With the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
STEPS NGO met the requirements of charity under US Law and has been approved as the equivalent of US Public Charity by Silicon Valley Community Foundation and Global Giving to receive grants from USA.

Organization’s programs and services
1. STEPS Urban Health Centre: Providing Clinical services, creating awareness on issues related to health and family welfare, income generating programs for economic development of women and adolescent girls.
2. STEPS Targeted Intervention: Providing STI treatment, basic HIV care to FSWs, MSMs, PLHAs and awareness about STI, HIV/AIDS.
3. STEPS VMM TAP Program: providing health services, Awareness and referral services to the underserved communities who are infected and affected by TB, HIV/AIDS and Co-Infections.
4. Lymphatic Filariasis Disease Treatment: Providing treatment, medicines to Filariasis patients with the support from donors from USA through Global giving.
5. Malaria Eradication Program: Organizing free Health camps in the malaria affected villages and slums. Creating awareness to keep their surroundings clean to prevent breeding of mosquitoes.
6. Diabetes & Cancer Awareness camps: Organizing Diabetes and Cancer prevention, awareness camps and screening camps in slums and the villages.
7. LEGAL Assistance and Counseling Cell for Women: organizing legal literacy camps in Srikalahasti and surrounding villages with a focus to provide legal assistance and knowledge to the deprived women.
8. Reproductive and Child Health Program (RCH Program): Created awareness among women about the importance of antenatal, postnatal checkups, childcare.
.9. STEPS AVAHAN Project: Reduced HIV infection amongst FSWs,MSMs,PLHAs and providing STI treatment and basic HIV care, Created awareness, advocacy about STI, HIV/AIDS among key population and general population
10. STEPS-VMM EDC Program: Provided education support, encouraged children to continue their education and provided the socio-economic support to children who are affected with HIV.
11. STEPS-VMM CHAI Program: Provided services to the children who are infected by HIV. Strengthen the support systems for children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
12. STEPS-VMM PDBP Program: Provided services to the people who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
