International Institute for Safety Solutions (IISS) is a new venture that has been promoted to extend the benefits of professional education and practical training in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Engineering to the growing numbers of students seeking a career in these fast-growing fields. IISS, in association with the National Institute for Fire Engineering and Safety (NIFS) is currently offering a range of diploma and post-graduate diploma courses in Fire Engineering, Construction Safety, Industrial Safety and Health, Safety & Environment. These courses are taught under technical collaboration with the prestigious Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. Students are required to undertake a mandatory 4-6 days industrial tour as part of their practical training. While the UGC mandates that students studying for any of these diploma courses must put in a maximum of 40 hours of classroom study spread over a period of 3-6 months, IIFS is offering students the benefit of completing these courses with up to 130 hours of classroom study in 30-40 consecutive days. This not only enables a quicker completion of the course itself but also allows candidates to appear for their examinations at the earliest available opportunity. It is pertinent to note that these diplomas are recognized all over the world, except Great Britain.
