About Astro NITR in Astro Club NIT Rourkela, Rourkera

Astronomy is one of the few disciplines of science, which interests amateurs and scientists alike. History of the subject suggests that quite a few major discoveries were made by Amateurs and later verified by professional astronomers.

Astro NITR is an effort towards kindling the interests in the student of National Institute of Technology Rourkela. We started out as a discussion forum with just 4 people. In two years time, we have 30 members and are an active club at the institute.

We provide a platform for amateur astronomers and hobbyists to pursue their interests. The exchange of information and spreading of general awareness about various astronomical events find a common platform in the club.
