Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Rajnandan Rai of JD defeated Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh of BJP in 1995 and Sagir Ahmad of Congress in 1990. Sagir Ahmad of Congress defeated Rajnandan Rai of LD in 1985, Radha Pandey of Janata Party (JP) in 1980 and Shankar Prasad Yadav of Janata Party in 1977.
