About The Unique Foundation in Chintamani, Near Monato Hotel, Apate Rd, Shivaji Nagar, Pune

The Unique Foundation has been established under the aegis of The Unique Academy, Pune. The Unique Academy is renowned for imparting quality coaching for UPSC/MPSC exams since last ten years. The Academy is driven by the broader goal of ushering in a fundamental change in the face and substance of the civil services in India.
In order to broaden its horizons and strive towards the aim of positive social intervention to bring about social transformation, the Unique Academy is launching the new initiative namely The Unique Foundation. It has been established with the core purpose of creating and widening the space for a positive intervention in the public realm with the motive of substantiating democracy and ultimately securing human emancipation through it.
The main aim of The Unique Foundation is ‘Social intervention through Education, Research and Training’. Though the idea of the Foundation Center has been triggered off by a deep and minute understanding of the socio-political as well as economic condition of the state of Maharashtra and an urge to bring a positive transformation in it, by no means the Foundation wishes to confine itself to the study of Maharashtra per say, and definitely has a broader, national perspective in mind.
In fact, the predicament that is facing Maharashtra is more or less similar to the kinds of problems being faced by the country as a whole. The famous ‘Tryst with Destiny’ has not been entirely fulfilled as per the expectations of the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution. We, as a nation, are still far off from the stated goals during the national freedom struggle namely, socio-economic equality and a life of dignity to one and all. The transition from the mixed and state-controlled economy to an open market/liberalized economy has put forth serious challenges in the process of achieving these goals. Hence, it is all the more necessary to reclaim the Indian state and ensure its accountability and responsibility towards its citizens in the wake of the alleged ‘withdrawal of the state’ in the era of globalization. The efforts of The Unique Foundation would be focused in this direction, as it wishes to make a positive intervention in the public arena through its activities in the area of education, research and training.
