The first Principal of DPS were thePadma Shri awardee, S. L. Dhawan. He retired from the responsibility in 1998.

DPS Noida Academic – Curriculums

DPS Noida is affiliated to the CBSE board from Nursery till Class XII. The curriculum of CBSE is followed strictly. There is an option between English and Hindi as the major language. Students can also opt from Sanskrit, French,German,Japanese,Spanish and Latin from class IV till class XII.Science, humanities,commerce stream are proposed for consideration at Senior Secondary level. Work experience,Physical and health education and General studies includeas compulsory subjects.

Students can avail the opportunities of participating in renowned competitive exams includingNational Math,National Talent Search Test, Science and cyber Olympiadsand others of the same level.Scholar badge, Gold medals and Scholar Blazer are awarded to excellent performersin academic and other levels. Regular workshops, seminars and talks are conducted every fixed intervals for both students and teachers toimprove teaching techniques.

Other Activities

There are co-curricular activities to support the academic policies. It is an important requirement for all the students from class VI to class X for choosing work experience which hasa variety of creative activities. Each student requires at least 2 credits for co-curricularfor getting promoted to the next class. The student must acquire at least grade ‘D’ in SUPW and should participatein minimum one cultural event. Students performing excellently both in academicsas well as co-curricular activities are awarded with the all-rounder trophy.

DPS Noida Examinations Policy

There are no exams for students from class Nursery to class I. Students are evaluated regular observations and records.
Nursery and Prep: No formal assessment.

Assessments for children are based on routine observation, through General conversations and worksheets. For the verification of student’s conceptual understanding, there is a checklist.
Two examinations in each semester for classes VI-XI.
Class I: The grading system of class is based on written and oral both type of performance in class. As Formative exams are not held, so oral testing require for assessing a child further.
There are three formal examinations for class XII.
One test per week on Monday for class VI to XII is held for all subjects in rotation.
Class II: Assessments and evaluation are basic need for the report cards done based on Projects, weekly tests, oral testing and regular observation.
DPS Noida has begun a new concept of conducting class tests for students of senior wing. It has been started so that the daily performance of the students can be assessed. There are two tests conducted each week and this leads to the betterment of their preparations each day.

DPS Noida Facilities

The school is built on a massive are of over 15 acres and includes the Gandhi park right in the campus. There is a swimming pool for both seniors and juniors. Various sports facilities including tennis, table tennis,basketball, cricket, football,athletics,skating and horse riding are available.

The hostel in DPS Noida hostel wasstarted in 1995.It has boarding facilities for girls as well as boys. It includes a mess, gym facilitiesand a common/TV room. Air conditioners have been installed in all the rooms .

DPS Noidahas an auditorium, seminar room,AV room, conference room, three computer labs,foreign language labs and a LAN. There is a large stage in the field for assemblies and an open air theater.
the construction of our New building is almost complete ,where will be having huge auditorium,cafeteria,more class rooms and many many activity halls.
