Samarth Delhi Community Clinic is working with / for Sexual Minorities (considered non-conventional sexualities) in Delhi , Noida and NCR
We are one of the implementing partners of non profit India HIV/AIDS Alliance.
Samarth (meaning Empowered in Hindi) is based on the principle of establishing early ‘test-treat-adhere-prevent’ cascade for MSM(Men having sex with Men),Transgender and Hijra (MTH) population in India. Samarth Program has established six community clinics in six cities: Delhi, Vadodra, Jalandhar, Hooghly, Hyderabad and Pune . Through community led model, the project is working towards removing the barriers against HIV and other health services and sustain violence against MSM and TG.
Project Samarth is intended to establish MTH specific testing clinics, to create a safe space and expand early testing and treatment cascades for MSM and TG population in six metro cities (Delhi, Jalandar, Baroda, Hooghly , Hyderabad and Pune) in six priority states with high HIV prevalence ( Delhi, Punjub, Gujrat, West Bengal, Telangana and Maharastra) over three years. Simultaneously, emphasizing on regular follow-up and repeat testing. Following are major objectives of the project,
· Establishing community clinic and perform screening test to 10,800 (7560 MSM and 3240 TGH) MTH people periodically.
· Ensuring follow-up testing across the programme period of three years
· Providing accompanied referral support to ICTC for HIV confirmatory test ( clients who will identified positive in screening test )
· Linking at least 90% of the MTH clients with PRE-ART services and care and treatment facilities, including linkages with CSC
