Steria has been a strong proponent of CSR across the Group companies focusing on essentially the Community and the Environment. In India, the mainstay of our CSR work has been the Community, with our sharp focus on 'education', of children from the most marginalized sections of society, with emphasis on computer literacy and English language skills and with a special focus on the girl child. Our award winning community program, which began just about 6 years ago, is now being implemented in over 50 schools touching the lives of over 65000 school children.
Steria India Foundation (SIF) is a registered charitable trust and all donations to SIF are eligible for income tax concessions under Section 80G of the IT Act.

With the changes in the social landscape that we see happening soon, when the new Companies Bill 2012 becomes law, and a CSR spend of up to 2% of net profits becomes mandatory, we expect more and more companies looking to play a more active social role enter the CSR domain.
