About Sri Ramakrishna Asrama in Palemad, Edakkara, Nilambur

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Sri Sarada Devi experienced and lived the eternal principles of Vedanta and Swami Vivekananda expounded their teachings for the world. In the light of their life and teachings, Sri Ramakrishna Asrama is devoted in undertaking spiritual and Dharmic activities.

Sri Ramakrishna Asrama is situated in a serene village Palemad, Nilambur. Nilambur is a beautiful place in Northern Kerala on the banks of Chaliyar river and on the lap of Sahya Hills, with all the blessings of the nature.

The Asrama is working primarily for the uplift of the indigenous inhabitants of Nilambur, focusing on tribal communities. They are part of our rich heritage of Primitive Tribal Population. By spreading of modern education based on spiritual values, services related to health care and economic development, the Asram aims to slowly integrate them to the main stream of the nation, without spoiling their simplicity, identity and basic ethos.
