About World Youth Conference 2017 Belize in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

The World Youth Conference 2017 will take place from 7th - 9th November 2017 at Belize City, Belize hosting by Government of Belize under the aegis of International Youth Committee (IYC).
WYC 2017‘s Cross-cutting theme is ‘Youth for Sustainable Development’.
The conference is expected to bring together 1500 participants from over 170 countries, half of them young people, aged 18 to 29, and 250 of them will come from marginalized backgrounds, making the event one of the most well represented youth events at the global level. A minimum of three official youth delegates will be selected by the country coordinator of each country. In addition to this, 100 more young people belonging to under-represented groups will be selected by the International Country Coordinator. The conference has a unique aim of producing a joint outcome document between states and youth, the “Belize Youth Declaration”.
The aim of the conference is to identify and share practical, evidence-based solutions that can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The WYC provides a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders from government, academia, the United Nations, international agencies, NGOs, and grassroots organizers to share practical solutions towards the achievement of more sustainable and inclusive societies.
