About Ganga International School (HIRANKUDNA) in ROHTAK ROAD, New Delhi

Ganga International School, in its present form was established in the year 2001, it is a progressive, child centered, Senior Secondary School recognized by the Directorate of Education, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The School is run under the aegis of Pawan Ganga Educational Society, consisting of eminent educationists and philanthropists, which is running many other educational and social institutions also.

The School caters to boarders and day scholars. It is spread over a vast area of beautifully designed and landscaped 20 Acre campus that is a visual delight. At GIS, every possible resource is dedicated to developing in its students the values and skills that form the foundation of a life of accomplishment, leadership and fulfillment. The School promotes intellectual curiosity and disciplined study habits through a challenging curriculum and also promotes active involvement in the life of the campus through a rich co-curricular programme. In all they do the students are both challenged and closely supported by an outstanding faculty and staff.

The School has on its roll about 2000 students out of which nearly 500 students reside in the School hostels. The diverse student body from across the capital region, across the country and around the world is a unique feature of our School. Approximately 60% of the faculty resides on the campus in accommodation provided by the School.

As educationists, we are deeply conscious that learning is a life long process of keeping abreast with the changes and that we need to give our students a chance at every possible avenue of inventiveness. We at GIS, aim to nurture not just better adjusted achievers, not just better conformers, but young men and women who can strike a new trail, who can redefine notions of success and who can take open hearts and minds out into the society which they can help transform.

It gives us joy to inform about the achievements of our children who bring a lot of pride and acclaim to the School by their performance both in academics and sports. Five of our students were selected in IIT-JEE, 2011 & many others were selected in various prestigious Colleges. The school had an Exchange Programme under DFID Partnership Scheme of British Council with Alexandra Infant School. The school has won overall Running Trophy in Inter School Debate Competetion. The students of the School have not only performed excellently in academics and shown commendable results in the Board examinations but have been bringing accolades even in the field of sports at national and international level.

We take pride in students like Ishant Sharma who is an integral part of the Indian Cricket Team. Tarannum Handa who is former Asia No. 1 Player (Under 14 category) in Lawn Tennis & now she is holding India Rank 6 and World Rank 270. Our many students are playing as a team member of Cricket Team in different states. Our students have won Gold Medal in Weightlifting, Baseball and Taekwondo in School National Games. Many of our students have represented the School and the state at various National and International Championships especially in Cricket, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Skating,Wrestling and Judo.

Such achievements are honoured by granting scholarships and financial aid is also provided to assist students who otherwise might not have the opportunity for good education due to the economic status of their family. We provide scholarships to the students coming from rural background, economically weaker sections and also to those who excel in the field of academics or sports. The School is providing scholarships including free boarding and lodging to the sports persons of national level and to all those students who secure 90 % or above in their class Xth Board Examination. The students who secure 85 % or above are given 50 % scholarship.
