About ROAD Safety : Time for Action in , New Delhi

In India, every year roughly 1.5 lakh people die in 5 lakh road accidents.

The estimated loss to the country equals roughly 3% of our annual GDP.

Besides, it leaves, traumatized, devastated, unhappy families.

No previous government really addressed this menace. But times are a changing. For the first time, the government has drawn up a comprehensive plan to combat the problem. Moreover, it has set an ambitious target to bringing down road accidents by half in the next 5 years.

To make Road Safety a way of life, Road Safety week is being observed between 10th- 16th January. Subsequently, the campaign will extend to the whole year.
