IGNCA’s Reference library popularly known as ‘Kala Nidhi’, invites students, researchers, art teachers and academicians from schools, colleges and universities to use its rich research and reference materials. The collection is particularly strong in the area like Art History, Religion Archaeology, Ritual Studies, Performing Arts, Anthropology , Sociology and Literary studies etc. The library has an air-conditioned reading room with study carrels, photocopy facility and Internet Connectivity.

Personal libraries of eminent scholars like Prof. Suniti Kumar Chatterjee, Prof. Hazari Prasad Dwivedi and Thakur Jaidev Singh etc.

Over 15000 bound volumes of journals including back issues of important periodicals in the area of Arts, History, Classical Literature, Religion, Sociology and Archeology etc. starting from volume one onwards

Over One Lakh digitized visuals comprising of Indian miniature paintings, archaeological sites, monuments and architectural wonders in South and Southeast Asia.
