ACTION AID SOCIETY ARUNACHAL

ACTION AID SOCIETY OR AASA was launched on 17th April 2002. It has been a long journey since the humble beginnings. Today AASA has carved a niche in organising women, mobilising them into groups, promoting rural livelihoods. The society has been managed, supported and assisted by people who all have held immense belief in the ability of rural women in being able to manage their lives and promote their well being socially and economically.

Today AASA is widely recognised at the household level in several pockets of rural Arunachal Pradesh. As the organisation was never keen on widespread publicity its recognition in the officialdom is indeed limited as compared to the recognition and appreciation that it enjoys at the cutting edge level, i.e. with the rural people.

Of late AASA has actively supported women groups to take up organic farming and in order to upscale their efforts towards increasing their economic well being, it has supported production and marketing of NATUROMA range of 100% ORGANIC PRODUCTS. Amongst NATUROMA products, NATUROMA-TURMERIC has gained a decent market share in the local markets here at Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. AASA has also launched other NATUROMA products such as NATUROMA-RED CHILLY POWDER, NATUROMA - GINGER POWDER, NATUROMA - CARDAMOM on a pilot basis.

Naturoma – promoted by AASA is a range of 100% organic products. The concept of NATUROMA is to provide the consumer with 100% organically grown and traditionally processed spices and condiments. At present AASA has already launched NATUROMA – Turmeric. It is gaining a significant market share in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

AASA has also launched NATUROMA – large cardamom powder, NATUROMA – Ginger powder, NATUROMA – Red Chilly Powder on a pilot basis.
