RIVER VIEW INN is located near PAMBAR river,which flows through the center of both Marayoor and Kanthallor villages. The Pambar,Kabani and Bhavni are the only rivers of the 44 in kerala that flow eastwards.The Pambar river orginates in the Anaimudi Hills and merges with the Chinnar River at Kottar and ends in Amaravathi dam Tamilnadu.The Pambar River flows slowly with elegant environment just faces the hotel across the river.The Hotel is situated at the center of both Marayoor and Kanthalloor.
Marayoor is the only place in kerala that has natural sandalwood forests. Ancient dolmens and rock paintings in marayoor date back to the Stone Age.Marayoor claims to be part of a Stone Age civilization that is old as 10,000 BC.People migrated from Tamilnadu to this area when the Madurai King Thirumalainaicker was defeated by Tippu Sulthan,in the eighteenth century.The migrants created five villages,being Kanthalloor,Keezhanthur,Karayur,Marayoor and Kottakudi.These five villages were called the "Anjunadu",literally meaning "five lands".
