Ojas LESC centre continues its pioneering tradition to date. Dr. Niteen Dedhia has the distinct honor of performing India’s first Phakic Intra–Ocular lens implantation on 21st December 2002 on a patient having myopia of –35.0 Diopters. This advanced procedure corrects myopic vision by the permanent implantation of a plastic/silicon lens into the human eye.
Mumbai’s first Intacs Implantation Centre at Ojas:
Intacs corneal implants are a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to correct the effects of keratoconus, i.e. the bulging caused by the thinning of the eye’s front surface. In near-sighted patients, Intacs work by flattening the cornea to refocus light rays. This improves vision.
