About Office of the Commissioner of Service Tax - VII, Mumbai in 2nd Floor, MSEB Building, Estrella Battery Compound, Matunga Labour Camp, Dharavi, Mumbai

Central Board of Excise and Customs notified the formation of Commissionerate of Service Tax-VII Mumbai and its territorial jurisdiction vide Notification No: 20/14—ST dated 16.9.2014. The newly formed Commissionerate of Service Tax VII came into force on 15.10.2014. In the said Notification dt. 16.9.14, the territorial jurisdiction has been defined as :-
(i)Areas comprising in the Wards of L, M (East), M (West), N, S and T of MunicipalCorporation of Greater Mumbai in the State of Maharashtra
(ii) The entire Districts of Thane, Palghar and Raigad in the State of Maharashtra.
In pursuance of the above Notification a Trade Notice No: 1/2014-ST dated 7.10.2014 was issued by the Chief Commissioner, Central Excise and Service Tax, Mumbai Zone wherein the territorial jurisdiction of the Commissionerate of Service Tax-VII, Mumbai and its Division has been restructured. The territorial jurisdiction therein has been defined as under:-
i)Areas in the Wards of L,M(East), M(West), N, S and Tof the Municipal Corporation ofGreater Mumbai in the Stateof Maharashtra.
ii)The entire Districts ofThane, Palghar and Raigad inthe State of Maharashtra.
On the basis of the above, the newly formed Commissionerate of Service Tax-VII came into existence w.e.f. 15.10.2014 and the territorial jurisdiction of individual Division within Service Tax-VII Commissionerate was distributed into four regions i.e. Greater Mumbai ( Wards L, M (E), M (W), N, T and S), Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts comprising of 10 divisions each consisting of 4 groups as vide Trade Notice No: 55/2014 dated 8.10.2014 of Commissioner of Service Tax , Mumbai-II
Subsequently, the CBEC vide Notification No: 1/2015-ST dated 20.01.2015 inter alia amended the territorial jurisdiction of Commissioner of Service Tax-VII and excluded Palghar District which was Division X of the ST-VII Commissionerate and included the same in the territorial jurisdiction of Commissioner of Service Tax-VI both falling in the jurisdiction of Chief Commissioner of Service Tax, Mumbai. Hence presently there is no functional Division X in the jurisdiction of Service Tax-VII Commissionerate, Mumbai.
Presently Shri Rajiv Kapoor, IRS is the Commissioner.
