Swadhaar FinAccess (SFA) is a Mumbai based non-profit that provides financial education to women living in slum communities. Many of these work as domestic helps, do piece rate job works and so on with uncertain and irregular incomes. They contribute substantially to the household incomes, and sometimes are sole or major bread winners for their families.

SFA’s specially designed Financial Education Programme (FEP) aims to empower them with education and skills to make informed financial decisions with regard to their household finances.

Financial education has had a positive impact not only on the participants but also on their immediate family members; spouses and children. The women and their families have started to save, cleared debts and have started to plan and manage their finances more effectively. Women have become empowered, confident and have started making personal financial decisions
