This is what the Culture we introduced organised in our campus TISS, Mumbai. The "Ambedkar Memorial Lecture" is an Academic and Scholarly initiative of the students and teachers of TISS, by organizing lectures symposiums on various topics related to Ambedkarian concern. This endeavor aims to Ambedkarian Vision to remain active Academically and Politically. This platform will provide a space to discuss and debate on various aspects related to the marginal sections like, Dalits, Adivasis, Minorities and Other backward classes, including Women's. Our approach should be interdisciplinary, that the concern is the topics and issues not the disciplinary boundaries.
The Ambedkar Memorial Lecture committee is unfeignedly the students body and not the integral part of the Institute and its administration except just its academic engagement. Because the logic is that, the academic engagement of the students should not go in conflict with their political, cultural and social engagement. So the students body is a good combination for dealing with academic, political and cultural engagement of the students for this specific activity. It is the responsibility, political, socio-cultural and moral of the AML team (students body) to mobilize the resources and fund even if from the Institute and its administration for making it success.
