About Lamington Road in Lamington Road, Mumbai

Lamington Road, named after Lord Lamington (Governor of Bombay between 1903 and 1907) is a busy thoroughfare near Grant Road station in South Mumbai. The official name of the road, though rarely used, is Dr. Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg.

Lamington Road is famous for its wholesale and retail market in electronics goods. Shops on the street sell computer goods, electronic items, television equipment, and wireless equipment at rates much lower than the maximum retail price as they have a high turnover. Not only the latest computer related items but even outdated electronic parts for radios like transistors, capacitors, cables, sound cards, TV tuners and adaptors can be bought from this market

It is the address of famous theatres such as the Minerva, Apsara, and Novelty as well as some B and C grade theatres such as the Naaz. It also has a well known Saibaba temple called as "Saidham". Schools such as DGT High School (Marathi medium), Queen Mary (ICSE) and Robert Money School (SSC) & Junior college. The southern end of the road ends at Opera House.
