‘SERVICE, THE HIGHEST FORM OF WORSHIP’

Only with the grace of god can man be inclined to serve his divine creations. As every new beginning is god’s own way of directing mankind to achieve the higher purpose.

Certainly, here is a blessed soul with a motive to serve for the higher purpose; the purpose to serve for the better inhebitance of lord Krishna’s most dear and beloved COWS. COW lovingly called as ‘GOWMATA’ in India, is worshiped as a Mother who treasures the presence of 33 crore Hindu Devtas in her heart.
Lord Krishna often stated to his devotees,” if u wish to serve Me, serve My beloved Cows”.
Service to mother cow is like serving to Lord Krishna himself.

Inspired with this divine motive and the powerful spirit to dedicate his precious life to achieve the higher purpose through service to mankind and gowmata, Shri Vallabhdas Mehta (Ghadiyali) (fondly called as Vallabhkaka) started the auspicious journey in year 1965.

To begin with, in the company of Mumbai based, Shri. Vallabhkaka with the support of a dear friend Shri Babubhai Tanna started as a once in a week practice to work towards the welfare of gowmata. From then every year they would consistently go for ‘leeli parikrama’ and thereby receive constant guidance not only from the vaishnavs but also from the Vallabh (the Goswami gurus of the pushti-panthi). And hence in the year 1990 with the grace of god and the blessings of the gurus, they initiated the noble work in Lord Krishna’s own land, Shrimad Gokul.

Well every good & noble cause has to sustain indefinite beauraucratic difficulties. Shri Vallabhkaka’s journey was also certainly not going to be easy. They made every effort to organize a plot to construct GOWSHALA- home for cows in Vrajbhoomi. However efforts failed, but the spirit strengthened.

They would then go to the Mathura market once a month to buy dry grass and supply the same to the locals of Gokul (vrajvasis) involved in the welfare activities for the gowmata. They developed the rationing card system to keep a track of the monthly supply of the fodder. They successfully continued this activity until the year 1994.However, the visionary Shri Vallabhkaka always felt the need to construct DHARAMSHALA (comfort-inn) to be able to provide better lodging and boarding (mahaprasad) facilities for the pilgrims. Thereby with consistent positive approach, the dynamic duo with the help of the well-wishers, successfully formed SHRI GOKUL VAISHNAV Sewa TRUST and bought a land (approx 200 yard) to make the dream Sewa Kunj (comfort-inn) a reality.
Also in the year 2002, GOKUL VRAJ FOUNDATION- CHARITABLE TRUST was formed to initiate the social service activities to extend help to the deserving vrajvasis.

Shri Vallabhkaka’s life is indeed a true example of his motto- service to mankind and god’s divine creations, is service to god himself. The man of strong verdict is he that since last 18 years he has shifted base from Mumbai to Shrimad Gokul and faces every difficulty as a stepping stone to contribute greater and higher. His strengthening spirit has been his beloved wife late Shrimati Mangalaben, who worked shoulder to shoulder with him till her last breath.84 year old dynamic vallabhkaka starts his day as early as 06.00 am and is engrossed in the noble activities of the trust until 10 pm.

With the kind blessings of god and gurus; with the wide-hearted support of the donor vaishnavs, both our above mentioned service organizations are able to contribute for these below mentioned various noble activities. All the trustees, blissful donors and honorary volunteers work hand in hand in full co-ordination to enforce the goals of the trusts.
