About Capt.A.D.Manek
Capt.A.D.Manek founded The Skyline Aviation Club in 1987. He is currently presiding as Managing Trustee and Chief Advisor of The Skyline Aviation Club, Mumbai.

Born in 1961, he had ambition of becoming a pilot since childhood. His tryst with aviation started with a visit to a flying club to find out how to become a pilot in 1979. He acquired his Private Pilot's License from DGCA in 1985 in India. He was able to complete his Commercial Pilot's Certificate training with Instrument Rating, Multi Engine Rating and Instructor Rating from U.S.A in 1989.

He also completed his training in "Aircraft Dispatcher" from Institute of Flight Operations & Dispatch (IFOD), Texas, USA. in 2008. His last visits includes; NASA USA, BOEING USA and "Smithsonian Air & Space Museum" Washington DC, USA.


Due to lack of information, Guidance and proper training it took ten years to make his dream come true as a commercial Pilot. He took up job for a short time with Air India Employees Guild Training Center, Mumbai as a Principal. The strong reason behind formation of The Skyline Aviation Club is to help new comers to achieve their goal of becoming a pilot in shortest possible time by giving them proper information, guidance and best available training which Capt.A.D.Manek missed in making his career.
He has acquired 28 years of experience of teaching aviation subjects by training more than 3500 students including trainee Commercial Pilots, trainee Air hostesses & Flight Pursers, trainee Private Pilots, Amateur Wireless License, for which he was awarded "GOLDEN ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" viz. "Pride of Gujarat" by hands of Late Shri Ashok Bhatt, President, Vidhan Sabha, Government of Gujarat. He is a licenced Ham Radio Operator by Ministry of Communication & IT,, Govt. of India.

His Radio Call Sign is VU2ADW. Actively enganged in Emeergency Communication Service since last 16 years. He was also awarded "EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AWARD" by National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR), Hyderabad for rendering exceptionally Noteworthy Service as an Amateur Radio Operator Providing Emergency Communications Support Under Exteremly Diffucult Situations in the aftermath of the Gujarat Earthquake Disaster of January 26th, 2001. Capt.A.D.Manek is fully engaged in aviation education and social service since many years. He was featured by Print Medias like: Times of India, Indian Express, Mid-Day, Indian Aviation News and many Gujarati and Marathi Newspapers.

Recently Capt.A.D.Manek was featured as an AVIATION EXPERT by CNN IBN, Headlines Today, Aaj Tak, Tej for advices and reviews on aircraft accidents and Safety matters at airports in India. Hundereds of his students are currently employed as an Airline Pilots, Pilot Instructors, Flight Dispatchers, Air hostesses and Flight Pursers with various airlines in India and abroad.

Basic qualities acquired during training with National Cadet Corps (NCC) Armour Division (Auxulary Wing of Indian Army) has made him to lead Skyline efficiently with a motto "Beyond Time at All Times".
