About Bp Moideen Library Mukkam in Mukkam Town, Mukkam

B.P. Moideen Sevamandir is a nonpolitical secular and voluntary nongovernmental organization formed in 1987, in memory of late Mr. BP Moideen, a renowned social worker and freelance journalist belonging to Mukkam in Kozhikode of Kerala state In India. Mr. BP Moideen sacrificed his life after saving three persons involved in a country boat endangered in Iruvazhinji river near Mukkam during the monsoon period of 1982. He was later honored gallantry award ‘JeevanRakshapathak’ for his bravery posthumously. He started two organizations entitled Mochana Women’s club in the year 1960 and Anitha children’s club in the year 1980.
In the meeting conducted on January 23rd 1987 on Nethaji day and presided by B.P. Moideen’s mother Areeppattammal Fathima, it was decided commence a memorial combining Anitha children’s club established by Moideen in 1960, Mochana women’s club established by Moideen in1980 and B.P. Moideen children library, which was established after the demise of an organization formed for bequeathing Moideen’s service mindedness the new generation.
This organization was named and it’s bylaw was formed by the founder member P.T. Bhaskara Panicker. The inauguration ceremony was performed in 1987 by the Honorable Health Minister of the Kerala State, A.C. Shanmukha Das.
