Dear Contractor,
This is your Association which is registered under Society’s Registration Act 1860 (Central Act 21 of 1860) with Registration No. 379/GOA/2016. The main aims and objectives of the Association are as follows:
1.To look after complete welfare of the Contractors.
We have been working as contractors since very long time. We carry out our business and capable of solving problems faced by us as individual contractor. In other way we are capable of looking after our welfare as an individual contractor. But there are certain problems which are beyond need to be looked after by us as a community or as ‘contractor community’. When it comes to such problems, we are helpless as there is not a single organization of Contractors which can look after the welfare of ‘Contractor Community’. Therefore it is the first and main objective of this Association to look after the welfare of the contractors.
2.To promote feeling of unity, co-operation and mutual help among the Contractors
In order to face the problems in the business we need to unite. It is said that ‘When spiders unite, they can tie up the Lion’. No need to say that in case we co-operate and help each other than we can face any challenge.
3.To act as a bridge between Government and Contractors.
We contractors have built all the major bridges in Goa. But till date we have failed to built a bridge between us and Government. We contractors don’t have any mechanism which can link us with the Government. We need urgently an organization which can put up the difficulties faced by us to the concerned authorities of the Government. This organization can also facilitate Government to make clear its stand regarding the major issues pertaining to the Contractors. This will avoid unnecessary misunderstanding between Government and Contractors.
4.To start ‘Contractors Co-operative Credit Society’ to provide banking and credit facilities to the Contractors.
One more objective of this association is to start a co-operative credit society and work for its growth. We can further convert it into a co-operative bank. In long run this bank can get the status of ‘Scheduled Bank’. Once this status is acquired, this bank can serve all the banking purposes of the contractors including issuing of ‘Working Capital Certificate’ and ‘Solvency Certificate’.
5.To get representation in decision making process of the Government like modification of Goa Schedule of Rates etc.
Certain decisions of the Government have great effect on our business. Due to lack of proper organization, we contractors don’t get representation in decision making mechanism of the government. With a proper and legal organization we can get such representation which will help in avoiding adverse effects of decisions of the Government.
6.To provide assistance to the Contractors in technical, non-technical and legal matters.
It will be a great help to the contractors if there is some organization which can provide assistance to him in all the matters related to the business.
7.To improve and elevate the technical, legal and general knowledge of the Contractors by arranging, lectures, meetings, seminars and workshops.
This is one of the most important objectives of this organization. If we succeed in improving the knowledge of the contractor, than it will help contractors to earn more profit without compromising with the quality of the work. This will also benefit Government as it will get good quality work and with better legal knowledge to the contactor the legal disputes will be avoided.

The above aims and objectives cannot be achieved unless we all contractors join this association and get united.
