About Shield in , Mangalore

SHIELD TRUST is a Mangalore based non government organization, which is run by a set of philanthropists who share this conviction in bringing development in the society by innovative programs. We intend to play an effective role in sustaining quality life of underprivileged children's of Mangalore and surrounding rural areas.

SHIELD is created to work towards the Social, Cultural, Economical, Environmental, Health, Educational relief as mentioned below.

-Empowering children to complete school and succeed beyond that.
-Combat child trafficking and aid vulnerable children.
-Programs to support children both financially and emotionally, both in school and after graduation.
-To help rural communities develop their own localized strategies for development. We push to secure adequate financial flows to sustain basic services for poor people.
-Human development is driven by empowered women. But women and girls are still massively under represented and often oppressed. We work to help them speak out and demand justice, and to assert their leadership.
-Protecting child domestic workers from abuse and exploitation in through partnerships with local NGOs. This involves: conducting research on the psychosocial impact of domestic work; assisting and supporting groups of child domestic workers through a small grants scheme; and advocacy work at local and national levels to raise awareness about the situation of child domestic workers.
