Wynad District is a bio-diverse region spread across 2,132 square km on the lofty Western Ghats, Wynad is one of the few districts in Kerala that has been able to retain its pristine nature. Hidden away in the hills of this land are some of the oldest tribes, as yet untouched by civilization. And the very first prehistoric engravings in Kerala discovered in the foothills of Edakkal and around Ambukuthimala bear testimony to a pre-historic culture dating back to the Mesolithic Age. Strikingly scenic, it is known for its sub-tropical savannahs, picturesque hill stations, sprawling spice plantations, luxuriant forests and rich cultural traditions. A holistic confluence of wilderness, history and culture, Wayanad is located on the southern tip of the magnificent Deccan plateau.
There are two cottages which can house 2 guests each. You can also avail the facility of adding an extra bed on the floor. The salient features of this cottage are given below. While doing so we want to be transparent and as close to the real situation so that above everything else you will have an honest value-for-money experience. We have attempted to focus on cleanliness and hygiene without compromise on reasonable physical comfort to rest, relax and enjoy the silence. We hope that you will reciprocate the same while staying there. As for the food, it is our intention to provide you a tasty palette.

1. This cottages are located in a 4.5 acre property with rotational plantations like ginger, tapioca, yam, etc along with rubber and coffee and scores of Mahagony trees in a village called Bavali near the town of Katikulam about 10 kms from Mananthwady. The property is just off the highway at the entrance of Kerala on the Mysore-Mananthwady Road.
2. The village is very sparsely populated and about 5 Km from Kattikulam.
3. The flowing of the Kabini river about 200 m from the property is an added attraction. This river borders Kerala and Karnataka and a boat ride downstream the river is a possibility.
4. Each Cottage has a single bedroom with a double cot, a living room with necessary furniture and a kitchen. The bedroom has an attached toilet.
5. The kitchen is equipped with necessary utensils, refrigerator, electric stove, etc which can be used for preparing a quick meal, snack or coffee if necessary.
6. Other minor facilities like water heaters, crockery, dish TV, bicycles, netted court, etc can make your stay comfortable and exciting.
7. The caretaker and his family stay next door and are available for any help including food.
8. There are many places in Wyanad that can provide you a break from the maddening crowds and make you feel an oneness with the infiniteness of nature – its woods and animals. A ride in Wyanad will always help you encounter atleast a wild elephant or deers, if not a bison or a tiger !!
