Both in content and in quality, in gravity and in majesty, CMS Mahanagar rises high above the rest making its mark on the academic sky. The branch was established in 1959 with Mrs Padma Joshi as it first Principal. In 1964, Mrs Sarla Govil became the Principal while in 2013, Mrs. Nisha Pandey, The present Head of the School took over. While the Branch has always been recognized for its excellent academic results in the U.P. Board High School Examinations with students figuring in the state merit list, in 2000-2001, the Branch switched over to the ICSE system and since then, rapid progress has been achieved in all fields of knowledge, music and sports. The International English Literacy Fest "Odyssey International" is organized by CMS Mahanagar every second year and is well known for its high class plays, poetry, dramatics, elocution, speech and debate contests.

This year 60 students secured 90% and above marks in ICSE. The total strength of pupils in this Branch is 2790. CMS Mahanagar students are dotted all over the globe. Giriwar Dayal was selected in IAS. Many other students have made their marks in various engineering and medical colleges of India and abroad. Now celebrating its 50th year well nurtured by the respective Principals and teachers, CMS Mahanagar enters a new era of distinction — its name written in letters of gold in CMS diaries.
