An emblem already by the virtue of its name, still nurtures an insatiable penchant for creation. As creation begets creation Debkamal is in constant pursuit through interesting classes and innumerable shows in and around Kolkata and Delhi.
It was in the year 1980 a very subtle but an extremely intense patch of subconscious suddenly got its wings. Answering to a call from one of its close relative saw Debkamal performing in a major character in a Rabindra Nath Tagore’s dance drama. The performance received acknowledgement. That may not sounds to be a major boosting for an ordinary man but the artist in Debkamal suddenly found himself in somewhat unknown but amazing world – the dream of dancing in stage- comes true. After that it was no stopping from reaching to the dreamy land of creative performance.
After a rigorous test performance suddenly saw Debkamal got included in his first foreign tour. It was in Mamata Shankar Ballet Troup. The dream took a giant wing. The junior most in the squad creeping his identity among the best. Like this Debkamal toured almost half of the hemisphere while his stay in Mamata Shankar Ballet Troup. Accolade acknowledgement and praise starts raining. He started getting an instant acknowledgement in and around his periphery. All in a while Debkamal’s fate took an unfamiliar twist which saw him knocking the door of another exponent of creative Dr. Manjushree Chaki Sarkar of Dancers’ Guild- NABA NRITYA. There also he underlined his indispensability. By his intrinsic skill and sincerity Debkamal established himself in the batch of the most acclaimed dancers in Kolkata. Excelling there with equal élan Debkamal started thinking his own institution Debkamal’s
Creation- NIKKON.
