About Rescue and Relief Foundation in 42/1 Dum Dum Road, 1st floor, Kolkata

Although we all want to help people in their need pressures of this
world sometime do not allow us to go beyond our daily problems. But it
is a mysterious but open secret is that when we help to solve
other’s problem a bit, some of our own problems are solved also.
Earth is round and whatever we give come back to us. The more we give
the more we get back. “We rise by lifting others” (Robert
Ingersoll).

Remembering that, we from Rescue and Relief Foundation are trying our
bit to alleviate the problems of the deprived and unfortunate a
little. At present Recue and Relief Foundation is helping the
underprivileged in following projects.

· REHABILITATION OF GIRL CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

·REHABILITATION OF ORPHANS AND DESTITUTE CHILDREN

·Rehabilitation of underprivileged elderly people

·Cancer care for underprivileged

·Vocational training for underprivileged women and destitute
children

.REHABILITATION OF GIRL CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Millions of girl children above 10-12 are illegally trafficked within
India and from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal for
flesh trade in red light districts of different cities of India. R&R
has joined the fight against human trafficking by providing help for
food, education and health-care for 150 girl children victims through
2 of its partner projects.

1. INSTITUTIONAL CARE FACILITY for child victims at NARENDRAPUR near
Kolkata. In addition to shelter and basic amenities and education
economic, psychological and legal help is provided to them so that
they can get back to the mainstream of society. Along with medical
treatment when needed they are trained in different vocational crafts
to earn their living. Dance, music and art are used to provide
psychological healing therapy. Jobs are also provided through
different channels.

2. DROP -IN-CENTRES, situated at RED LIGHT AREAS of Kolkata provide
assistance to children of women in prostitution. It takes care that
they do not join the profession of their mothers and given both formal
and non formal education. They also act as monitoring units against
child trafficking for vocational training.

REHABILITATION OF ORPHANS AND DESTITUTE CHILDREN

More than 2 crore orphans and destitute street children in India are
subject to terrible exploitation through slave labour in organized and
unorganized sectors, as domestic helps and other forms. Rescue and
Relief extends a helping hand to these children so that they get
proper shelter and care and enough education so that they can lead a
dignified life in future. It aids 2 orphanages in West Bengal at
present.

BEHALA ORPHANAGE HOME, WEST BENGAL: The orphanage home at Behala.
Kolkata cares for 48 children between 4.5 and 15.

SASON ORPHANAGE HOME, WEST BENGAL: It has a capacity to house 50
children and at present about 30-35 children (boys) are dwelling
there. In addition to providing basic amenities and education they are
given mobile repairing training course as vocational training.

REHABILITATION OF UNDERPRIVILEGED ELDERLY PEOPLE

Old age is a major problem in itself as physical strength goes and
memory fails. On top of this they become subject of isolation and
neglect and abuse in many families. Many are thrown out of the
families with nobody to look after. R&R is providing aid to 3 old age
homes in Kanpur, UP,Kolaghat and Sason, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal
who are giving shelter to 83 elderly people without having anybody to
care for

CANCER CARE FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED

We extend both FINANCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL HELP though forums to
underprivileged cancer patients. We are at present providing SUPPORT
FOR 9 BEDS FOR CHILD and 4 BEDS FOR COLON CANCER patients (adult) in
two renowned cancer hospitals located in Kolkata.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED WOMEN AND DESTITUTE CHILDREN

R&R IS AT PRESENT PROVIDING SEWING MACHINES AND TAILORING TRAINING TO
UNDERPRIVILEGED WOMEN AT SASON, SOUTH 24 PARGANAS. MOBILE REPAIR
TRAINING IS ALSO GIVEN TO ORPHANS AT SASON ORPHANAGE HOME.
