The idea to set up such an organization was hatched far away in the U.S. where Sri Basu and a few others had met during a MDRT conference where they were certainly impressed by the knowledge, status of Insurance Marketeers and in an attempt to bring the best of U. S. to our home…came up ‘LISC’.

What were the objectives behind LISC’s inception?


1. To impart Insurance Knowledge of the world Insurance Sector to our fellow Marketeers.

2. To help create an identity for themselves and to inculcate a position of self respect for them : We are in no way inferior to any established Doctor, Engineers, Lawyer or successful Businessmen.

3. To meet once in a month and exchange professional experience related views.

4. To arrange for lectures by National and International marketing experts to help expand our professional circle.

5. Last but not the least, to conduct an annual gathering at the end of a busy, hectic year- to ease the tired nerves.

The chief objective behind the effort was to boost the morale and self esteem of the agents……to make them believe in themselves so they attain new heights of glory….so that they get the recognition that is due-in family, in the society.

Opening of LISC units in Kolkata and all over India had important objectives. To arrange lectures by internationally acclaimed speakers, sharing their global experiences, getting to learn about the best Marketeers, to get inspired, enlightened and indulge more in the profession: Insurance Marketing.


This is specially helpful as all the MDRT qualified agents are not always in a position to attend the conference at U.S.


The leadership baton was handed over by Sri Shibendu Basu to his brother Shubhendu Basu in 1989 and today the legacy is being carried forward most efficiently by Sri Subrata Saha since 2004. Under his Supervision LISC has produced maximum no. of MDRT agents and it is truly acknowledged that due to his hard work and endeavour, LISC today has carved a niche for itself not only in India but also in most parts of the world as our association of Insurance professionals.


LISC has become a household name and Sri saha definitely deserves respect and salutations for that!!


To sum it up, it needs worth mentioning that since the past 25 years, team of LISC leaders have been successful in shaping it into a charitable organization by their honest, tireless efforts and dynamism. They have sincerely put in their own money, invaluable times and energy to keep it away from any business interest and have created a space for our beloved LISC which is very close to our hearts.
