Located at Kumbalam, near to Toll booth at Kumbalam ,Kochi take a a 5 minute deviation from NH Byepass . park your vehicle in front of the church and then walk down through the narrow lane. No Sign boards, No names , an old fashioned Kerala tea shop which could take max 20 people at a time on its chairs, wooden stools and benches placed in n out of the tiny space. 20 meters from the shop, there is this lake side which presents such a majestic view of urban kochi in the backdrop of the lake.

The joint has quite a few specialities.

1) Open from 9 PM till early morning 2 AM mostly, which makes it a perfect hangout after late night movie, or sessions.

2) The menu here is very simple and limited ... #Puttu ( steamed rice cakes with grated coconut topping) choice of #BeefCurry ( or #ChickenRoast served alongwith hard boiled #DuckEggs ( the real big, local ones with yolk which resembles orange) . #Tapioca ( Kappa) too is available.

3) The whole show is managed by a single person, named Shibu (fondly called Shibu Chettan ) right from mixing the dough, cooking, serving, payment collection, clearing, cleaning and I mean each and everything. regulars here ... contribute their bit by giving a helping hand..probably to get their stuff faster.

4) All items are cooked on wood fire in traditional way.

There could be a bit of waiting ranging from 10-15 minutes as Puttu here is always freshly prepared and served piping hot.

The food tastes really good and local especially the beef which has mix of the lighter bones too which gives that distinct taste to the gravy. Chicken is a touch on the sweeter side and comes with a thick gravy. The boiled duck eggs comes to you with the shells ( you don't have to pay extra for that) ...and mind you these are the real local (#Kuttanadan ) duck eggs which are large in size and come with a real orange color yolk and not like their broiler counterparts.

Black tea is also there for the taking.
