About International Sreekrishna Kendram - ISK in , Kochi

OUR AIM

Our main aim is to establish :-

> A model village offering an opportunity to the public especially to children to learn about India's unique heritage and culture as well as the message of Bhagavan Sreekrishna.

> A centre devoted to informal and formal education on Bhagavan Sreekrishna's life, teachings and actions in a simple and lucid manner which would resurrect our value system.

> To have a research and referral centre for Vedic Culture.


OUR OBJECTIVES

To spread the message of 'universal love and brotherhood' (Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam).

To act as a forum for people of all religion & nationalities to meet & understand the ideals of Sreekrishna and establish links with other like-minded institutions in India and abroad with a view to unite all those working for the same goal.

To function as a centre of education for children on Indian heritage, culture and spirituality.

To establish a model village at the centre to showcase our cultural, customary and traditional values & practices as well as the various arts, crafts, fine arts, folk art dance forms etc.

To preserve all kinds of native art forms depicting the life and actions of Bhagavan Sreekrishna.

To create eco-friendly atmosphere for visitors to ease out their mental tension and relax with a unique experience that they miss in the urban life by setting up of Goshaala Villages and Herbal Gardens.

To provide shelter & education to children and shelter and medical care to deserving person.

To create centre for Yoga & Meditation, Ayurveda & Naturopathy and other forms of holistic medicines.

To promote opportunities to all in preserving and improving upon the traditional Indian values.

To conduct conferences / seminars / workshops / formal & informal meetings / interaction.

To conduct classic and folk arts programmes.


RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECT

Bhagwan Sreekrishna is assuredly the most enchanting figure in human history. He reflects and represents every aspect and aspiration of humanity in its onward march to future. Immeasurable in nature and inconceivable in might, Bhagwan remains an ever vibrant motivator of Indian ethos. The centre devoted to informal and formal education on Bhagvan Sreekrishna's avatara would resurrect our value systems. It is in this perspective that Balagokulam has initiated steps to establish INTERNATIONAL SREEKRISHNA KENDRAM (ISK) in central Kerala. The project is being implemented by the Balasamskarakendram, a trust formed and managed under the auspicious of Balagokulam.
