About AZAD Youth Club,karwar in #1882, near excise office, Kodibag, Karwar

THE AZAD YOUTH CLUB, KARWAR is a Non Government Organisation established in the year 1978. Club has been rendering service to the public and children without any discrimination on the basis of religion, caste and creed. The sincere, sports, health, cultural activities, arts, science, literature, child welfare, upliftment of poor, backward and down trodden have been appreciated by the public.
THE club has its Silver Jubilee Year 1978-2003 on 23-0402005. It has published the Sea-Breeze Souvenir on said occasion which gives the various activities and the achievements done by the club in various fields in a nut shell. The turning of pages of the Souvenir makes it clear that the club has achieved its objects by and large because of untired efforts of its founder and office bearers. In the field of child welfare, education, sports, health, cultural activities, the club has done excellent work. The award conferred on the club, its founder and office bearers by the Government and other reputed bodies suffices this fact.
THE club was “Voluntary Organization State Youth Award 2003-04” by the Director of Youth Services & Sports Department. Government of Karnataka on 31st October 2006. “Voluntary Organization District Youth Award” was conferred on this club by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The District Youth Services & Sports Department has awarded “Voluntary Organization District Youth Award” to this club.
THE club is functioning in a premises having 1200 sq ft area at Kodibag, Karwar. The office bearers of this club are always available to the students, youths and the public to help and guide them in various field.
SHRI NAZEER AHMED U.SHAIKH, Founder of this club who is working hard to achieve the objects of the club .The service rendered by him in the various fields have not gone unnoticed by the Central and State Governments. In 1991-92 the Government of India has awarded NATIONAL YOUTH AWARD and in 1988-89 the Government of Karnataka has awarded STATE YOUTH AWARD to him. In 2001-02 the International Lions Club has honored him by awarding “President Excellence Award” recognizing his social service. In14-11- 2008 the Government of Karnataka has awarded “ CHILD WELFARE FOR STATE AWARD “ to him recognizing his service rendered for the the welfare of the children. On 14-06-2009, World Blood Donor Day, the Indian Red Cross Society,Karnataka State Branch has honored him at the hands of H.E. Shri Rameshwar Thakur, then Governor of Karnataka, in the Raj Bhavan at Bangalore, by awarding “Certificate of Excellence” in recognition of his contribution in the field of welfare of children. The various organizations and associations in the district have been honoring him his sincere, honest and unselfish social work.
SHRI Shaikh is known as a Blood Donor. He has donated blood for 41 times and created a record in the District. By this work, he has not only helped the patients who are in need of blood, but also encouraged the youths to donate blood.Thus, the local hospitals are getting blood at their need The Governor, Ministers, District Administrator and the public have honored him for his noble service.The club is an active associated with Lions Club, Karwar, Rotary Club, Karwar, Indian Red Cross Society,District Branch, Karwar etc. so as to render social service.
Miss Khairunnisa Shaikh who is the office bearer of the club won Swami Vivekanand State Youth Award for the year 2006-07. Shri H. A. Asif Ali another office bearer begged “ District Youth Award” for the year 2004-05. Kumari Shaheen H. Shaikh was awarded the “ District Youth Award “ for the year 2006 by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of HRD , GOI and District Youth Services & Sports Dept. GOK Kumari Deepa D. Naik, won “District Youth Award “ for the year 2007-08 and Smt Shireen K. Shaikh won “ District Youth Award for year 2008-09 from District Youth Services & Sports Department.
KEEPING in view that the children are the assets of the nation, the club has done various activities to help and motivate the children. The club has conducted various competitions for the students such as drawing competition,General knowledge competition, sports etc. The club has donated free note books, school bags, pen, pencils, uniforms, carpets etc. to the students. The club has issued sticks, Braille watch, tricycle etc to the physically handicapped students.
THE club has celebrated environment day, children day, prohibition of child labour awareness day, teachers day, physically handicapped persons day, birth day Swami Vivekanand, birth day Mahatma Gandhi etc. so as to create awareness among the students and the public. The club is the champion of the poor and down trodden children.
