About Grameen Vikas Sansthan in Chanderpura, Nua, Jhunjhunun

Village Chanderpura(Nua) is located in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan about 200 Kms North from the capital city Jaipur.
The village like other villages in India is deprived of basic education, medical facilities, toilets, employment, electricity, roads etc. Our intention is to start small and bring in change first in our own backyard. It is with this goal in mind we set up Grameen Vikas Sansthan, a NGO focusing on bringing development work in the village. This initiative is the brainchild of ex Naval Officer Captain Shubhakaran Singh who belongs to the village and has the burning desire to bring about change in Chanderpura and eventually all the neighboring satellite villages around it with similar problems.

Development cannot be achieved without teamwork and contributions. . We urge all of you to come forward and reach out to us with any contribution you can offer to this initiative. Help and guidance in all forms are welcome! Contributions do not necessarily have to be monetary in nature. Any suggestions regarding rural development initiatives that we can execute here are more than welcome.

Donations are exempt from tax – 50% under section 80G of the Income Tax Act [ATG 1023(C) IV].

Aims of the Organisation:

1. Spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in rural areas.
2. Run "Save Girl Child" campaign in villages.
3. Encourage girls for higher education and to help them financially.
4. Encourage and organize conventional games and sports in rural areas.
5. Eradicate the malpractice of child marriage and to educate people about the same.
6. Educate about and encourage widow remarriage in rural areas.
7. Help needy old and disabled people in rural areas.
8. Educate and sensitize people about the importance of joint family.
9. Run rehabilitation campaign in villages.

We have envisaged the following tasks to be executed in Phase 1 which will require investments.

1. Implementation of drip irrigation technology powered by solar energy to increase crop production with limited water resources.(goal is to create alternate source of income by bringing about year long agriculture practice)
2. Renovation of Middle School to include furniture for classrooms, children park, toilet block, library and a computer lab.
3. Construction of a Community Health Centre and procurement of an ambulance vehicle.
4. Construction of toilets in each house of the village.
5. Construction of drainage system and sewage lines in entire village and also to have proper garbage disposal facility.
6. Tree plantation and provision for tree-guards to save the plants from being damaged / eaten by animals.
7. Installing street lights in the entire village.
