About Gadwal Handloom Center in Abids, Hyderabad

Mr.Ratan Babu Rao, a veteran in the trade of Handloom sarees opened up the showroom M/S. GADWAL HANDLOOM CENTRE in the heart of the city, Abids, Hyderabad in 1946 with unique range of handloom sarees like Gadwal (Silk and Cotton), Pochampally, Kanchi, Venkatgiri, Uppada (SICO), Printed Cotton Sarees and Narayan pet (Silk,Cotton). This showroom is one of the oldest shop of twin cities with only agenda “HANDLOOM’S RIDE; NATION’S PRIDE”. His experience of more than six decades in the field of Handloom and Textiles has created a mark and set a new trend of saree styles all over the nation.

M/S. Samasthan Gadwal Handloom Centre, under the management of Sangareddy Silk Emporium participated in the first all India Industrial Exhibiton in 1940 at Public Gardens, Nampally, Hyderabad with only 10 stalls from different sector which was inaugurated by H.E.H Mir Osman Ali, Seventh Nizam of Deccan Empire. The Nawab was highly impressed by the creative craftsman ship in textile industry and appreciated the work in the form of a self written Certificate to the organization, which was indeed a great honour.
