ABOUT US
CRAYONS was conceived by the founder’s in 2012 following which the school and associated activities are beginning in January 2015. Crayons is a result of the culmination of several pedagogues, experiences and variously gifted individuals.

All of our founders are individuals who have found learning through research, spirituality, self awareness and by creating unique opportunities for learning beyond the structural, curricular, conceptual, and physical confines of conventional schooling. We believe that all children are artists and facilitate The Atelier Studio model to nurture the child’s creativity, imagination and communication skills during crucial early childhood years.

CURRICULUM
The curriculum at Crayons is introduced through connected sub themes that focus on fine and gross motor skills, emotional and social development, fundamental literacy and numeracy, introduction to environmental consciousness. All connections are made using art, to make learning organic, natural and as tacit as possible for children.

Each theme starts with immersion in a folk art or contemporary art followed by learning of academics involving fundamental numerical skills, sound patterns, phonics in English, storytelling, nursery rhymes, visual words, drawing and scribbling, experiential learning involving imitation and role play, parent –child field trips, art and craft, theater, puppetry, music, dance etc.

Developing expression in listening, speaking, reading and writing are a major focus for the age groups. Understanding of Mathematics and Environmental Science is facilitated through experiential integrated learning by spiraling concepts and themes in a manner suitable to the child’s learning needs.
