Disaster Management, Infrastructure and Control Society (DMICS) was established in 2005 to enhance understanding and awareness among the people about the risks of various types and dimensions of disasters, and about the measures to be taken for reducing the risks, and for better preparedness, response and recovery, through multi-disciplinary research and publications, and multi-stakeholder consultations.

We at DMICS feel that disaster risk management is not the job of governments alone; it is everybody's business. DMICS has taken the mission to bring all the stakeholders together collectively and individually to share the current research and knowledge about the changing dynamics of risk of disasters, steps to be taken to prevent and mitigate risks as possible and be prepared for the residual risks through planning, education, awareness, exercises, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. DMICS is a civil society initiative to supplement and add value to all other initiatives through its independent, objective and sustained activities for research, analysis, advocacy and networking.

The Society has been successful in conducting various activities, workshops, seminars, conferences and congresses and in networking with Communities, Governments, NGOs, Academic and Research Institutions, Media, Public and Private Sectors.
